We wanted chatbots that text back like a friend would.

Itclickt started with a complaint. Every AI chat app we tried answered like a very polite help desk: long, tidy, eager, finishing every reply with a question. Nobody you actually know texts like that. Your friends reply "lol no" and then three messages in a row. They get things wrong, disagree with you, and forget to answer for an hour.

So we set out to build companions who text like people do, and then we needed somewhere to put them. A dating app turned out to be the right shape. You look at a profile, you decide, and they decide too. That small bit of uncertainty (will they like me back?) makes the whole thing more fun than a chatbot that's always available and always delighted to see you.

Every companion has a life of their own. A job, a home city, a family, usually a pet with a problem. Carina fixes cars in Berlin and swims in the lake at 6am in January. Panagiotis is a junior lawyer in Athens, looking after three cats that aren't his. They're all made up, and we're careful to say so everywhere, starting with the heads-up before you even have an account.

A few things we won't budge on. Itclickt is for adults. Companions are always AI and never pretend otherwise. We don't sell data or run ads, and everything is stored in the EU. And it's entertainment: good for a laugh, good for practising your openers, not a replacement for people.
